The Data Management & Analytics group is the central technology organization that is responsible for enabling and enforcing superior Data Management and analytical technology across JP Morgans including consumer and community banking businesses. As part of this function, we provide enterprise-level development resources for shared applications and services; and are responsible for advising JP Morgans management about the technology landscape. We provide oversight in various forms from program/project management oversight to development and quality assurance to general architectural guidance.
The big data application developer is responsible for owning and driving the technical innovation along with big data technologies. The individual is a subject matter expert technologist with strong Java experience and very knowledgeable with web based data visualization and integration of Open Source software including Big Data Concepts/Ecosystem and APIs. This individual will be expected to have a deep understanding and application of enterprise software design for implementation of enterprise middleware. This person will be part of successful Big Data implementations for large data integration initiatives. This role is expected to be part of agile team. Qualification & experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience must be in an development role, design, development and operation of distributed, fault-tolerant applications with particular attention to security, scalability, performance, availability and  optimization. (plus strong hands-on)

  • A strong desire to build high quality applications by creating a well designed architecture, writing clean code and implementing common industry practices such as continuous integration and significant unit test code coverage.

  • Experience successfully delivering applications using agile methods and collaborating with  team members including quality assurance, business analysts and project managers.

  • Candidate should have significant application development experience with Java and common libraries such as Spring, JUnit, Log4j and Jenkins.

  • Significant experience building async applications utilizing messaging technologies. Experience with anyone of the following  mq, rabbitmq, activemq, kafka.

  • Significant development experience creating modern single page applications using technologies and frameworks such as AngularJs or similar javascript framework

  • Experience creating REST web services with SQL and NOSQL databases .

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and services is a plus.

  • Experience with big data technologies like hadoop, hbase, cassandra, spark is plus

  • Experience with web charts/graphs (Angular charts preferred, for creating user-defined processor mappings), d3, or draw2d.

  • Experience in building Micro-services architecture

  • BS in computer science or equivalent

  • 2+ years Maven and Build Scripts, Jenkins
