Ink Factory is seeking someone to join our quirky team of 11. This is an entry-level creative position where you will learn and grow with the company. Our ideal candidate will bring their weirdness to work, be detail-oriented, curious, and a team player. Creative Position Summary: 

We are looking for a new Ink Factory INDIVISUAL (see what we did there?) to join us! Is that you? 

We want a well-rounded, curious candidate that can fulfill a variety of roles at our growing small business. We want to support you as a creative and teach you to match the awesome work we create among our team and deliver it to our terrific clients here at Ink Factory.

We want you to bring your awesome work ethic and your individuality to work. We are looking for a proactive self-starter that is comfortable with the unknown, who wants to learn and grow with us. 

 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  1. Located in Chicago

    1. Our studio is located in the Avondale neighborhood at 3638 W Belmont Ave. 

    2. We are accessible by public transportation and the Blue Line Belmont stop is super close by.

  2. Flexibility to work in our studio and remotely, but training would be in the studio as much as possible. 

    1. Our COVID policies are evolving as we learn more (we follow science-based guidelines). Our current policies include:

      1. Required vaccination for all employees (that are able to).

      2. Anyone with symptoms or a positive test is instructed to stay home and we mandate masks while in the studio based on the present company's comfortability.

      3. Utilizing our UV air filtration system to reduce risk and routine cleaning and disinfection.

      4. Reporting any positive COVID tests to the whole team.

      5. Keeping a safe space for each other to voice any COVID related concerns.

 

  1. Familiar with:

    1. Design basics

    2. Adobe Creative Suite

      1. We use Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, and Premiere Pro

    3. Procreate

    4. Google Office Suite

  2. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and/or relevant experience

  3. Strong drawing skills and ability to draw quickly

  4. An ideal team member will have excellent written and verbal communication skills (email, phone calls, video chats, professional interactions with the team, etc.)

  5. Enthusiasm for our company's values

  6. Fluent in Spanish is a plus

  7. Fun! We want you to bring your unique self to work. 

 

Specific duties and day to day responsibilities: 

  • Become Proficient in Digital Visual Note-taking

    • Ability to articulate design decisions in a way that's translatable to a team from various fields

    • Be open and excited about learning the skills of visual note-taking

    • Ability to find  interesting exciting solutions to problems

    • Ability to learn from and express feedback often in a collaborative and insightful manner

  • Support Artist team 

    • Prepare and package files for delivery

    • Prepare and present your work to peers and leadership

  • Contribute creativity, energy, and enthusiasm to the overall success of Ink Factory

  • Potential for specialization in your area of expertise 

  • Initiative in problem solving and project management


 

Anticipated Start Date: October 1, 2021

  • First Interview on 9/17 at 9am or 1pm (in person)

  • Second Interview 9/22-28

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Full-time and salaried (M-Th, 9am-5pm, F 9am-3pm)

    • Amount TBD based on experience 

    • Employees are paid on the last business day of the month via direct deposit.

 

Health Benefits

  • All full-time employees (exempt and nonexempt) may elect to participate in Ink Factory's group health insurance plan after 90 days of employment. Additional information concerning eligibility, costs, and the scope of benefits is available in the plan documents.

Retirement Benefits 

  • All full-time employees (exempt and nonexempt) may elect to participate in Ink Factory's retirement savings plan after 6 months of full-time employment. Ink Factory will match up to 3% of your contribution.

 

Paid Time Off 

  • All full-time employees who have satisfactorily completed the Initial Employment Period are eligible to take paid time off each calendar year based on their employment status. 14 PTO days are given in addition to the 8 holidays and bonus days given by Ink Factory as PTO. Additionally, 4 PTO days are to be used as a personal day once per quarter (i.e., 1 day in each quarter).
