Designer - UI/UX

We are looking for a new digital designer to complement our amazing creative team based in Los Angeles. This role is a 50/50 split between creating beautiful designs and sinking your teeth into heavy UI and UX work. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a challenge and is equally comfortable retouching in Photoshop as they are creating interactive prototypes.

1. Official Movie Platforms: We build ticketing websites for all the major movie studios and over 80 independent distributors globally.

2. Creative Builds: Creative homepages and custom creative builds for movies plus social visual assets etc including innovative Facebook Canvases.

3. Powster Labs: Experimental projects to create the next big thing in entertainment. So far this has included interactive music videos, messenger bots, AR face filters, and WebVR experiences.

What You'll Work On

You will be part of our creative team of visual designers, video editors and UX/UI designers under the guidance of our creative director. Your focus will be split between UX/UI and making sure our sites and products are visually stunning.

Projects will include working on our Movie Showtimes Platform, official movie websites, Facebook Canvases, interactive music videos and more advanced interactive websites (VR, WebGL etc). You'll be producing work for an incredible range of world-class entertainment clients, including all the major movie studios.

General Duties and Responsibilities

As a designer at Powster you will be designing sites and experiences using imagery and assets direct from the movie studios. You'll make beautiful designs that match the look and feel of the movie, incorporating your own flair into something that will be truly unique while keeping to strict deadlines. You are obsessive about design and user experience, have great attention to detail and a love for making things pixel-perfect.  This is a role for people who love what they do and will never be satisfied with second best.  We value someone with the ability to be absolutely focused on whatever task they're working on, down to the last detail.

 

Essential Skills

- Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on Photoshop and Illustrator and/or Sketch

- Basic knowledge of coding (Html, css, javascript) to collaborate with our developers

- Enthusiastic team player

- Strong interest in the entertainment industry and creative marketing

 

Experience

2+ years relevant experience

Professional experience in entertainment marketing and familiarity with current entertainment marketing strategies is highly valued.
