Why You Should Apply You will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the development of our software product suite. You will be able to see the product in our client’s hands almost immediately. This is truly a unique role in the rapidly expanding cannabis industry with a startup that is poised for big things. You have the opportunity to get in at the ground level and make a difference on a daily basis. The Job You will be leading a team of fast and talented software engineers and QA automation engineers. You are expected to be sitting side-by-side with developers guiding and enforcing good coding standard and when necessary solving the problems with them. This includes rolling-up your sleeve and coding architecture or functional codes to show your idea. You are expected to split your time 50-50 between technical management, hands-on implementation and troubleshooting issues. Together with the engineers, you will take ownership of the product, which includes front-end and back-end components, and infrastructure needs if required. Responsibilities: Run point and be a pragmatist and a true leader within the organization. Lead the multi-tenants cloud platform engineering teams committed to building the next generation of all-in-one retail products, applications and platforms Be both a technical leader and people manager Be part of an Agile team that ensures quality delivery in an ever-changing, iterative environment. Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts Partner closely with the product management and customer success teams to create shared roadmaps and deliver on the product vision Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement Establish project frameworks and development processes Minimum Qualification: 10+ years of software engineering work experience, including 7+ years of hands-on technical management by developing the architecture codes. Experience in one or more of the following domains: frontend, microservices based platform, mobile development, Java and reactJS, Kubernetes, Serverless Experience building and leading a software organization through product design, delivery and commercialization of successful SaaS products. Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management. BS/MS in Computer Science. Experience in leading timelines, multi-partner initiatives. Organizational communication and coordination experience. Nice to have: Deliver retailer point-of-sale, inventory management, discount and pricing engine, product management, e-commerce and content management. Multi-tenants implementation in the Cloud. Recent startup and/or high volume innovative retail experience is a huge plus.
