TITLE: Front-end Engineer / Web Developer
PRIMARY LOCATION: LA / Remote

REPORTING TO: Randy Force
HOURS: Full-Time

COMPENSATION: Based upon industry experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:

GMG is looking for a Full-Time Front-end Engineer to join the team! This position will require working alongside our back-end engineers for our core internal & external applications. Managing & maintaining websites in addition to visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, & layouts. Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have web tech experience (HTML, CSS), a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. Daily Duties

  • Work alongside our back-end engineers to create front-end designs

  • Managing & maintaining our company websites

  • Study design briefs and determine requirements

  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements

  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas

  • Create media kits

  • Develop illustrations, logos, and other designs using software or by hand

  • Work with copywriters and creative director to produce the final design

  • Create and test graphics across various social media platforms

  • Amend designs after feedback

  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

Preferred Qualification & Skills

  • Strong React/Redux skills is a must

  • A minimum of two years of experience with open source front-end languages and frameworks such as Javascript, React, Angular, Vue.js, and Typescript.

  • Proven visual / graphic designing experience - including websites

  • HTML, CSS, and Wordpress knowledge is required

  • A strong portfolio of illustrations, web design, typography and/or other graphics

  • Familiarity with design software and technologies
    - Adobe CS Suite (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop)
    - Wordpress (Administration & Management - API knowledge is a plus)
    - Sketch / Figma knowledge is a plus

  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

  • Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
