Graphic Design Intern

The Graphic Design Intern will assist the design team at Kaplan with all sales, merchandising, and marketing needs. This position will have one-on-one time with each designer, and also participate in Marketing team meetings and initiatives. Daily deliverables will be the norm, as will longer-term projects that support the Intern's developing skillset and expose him or her to different projects and departments in the company.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (position responsibilities):
- Print Design Support ? Work in collaboration with the Designer and Creative Director to create graphics and page layouts for Kaplan marketing materials, including catalogs, brochures, and flyers.
- Web Content Support ? Work under the direction of the Digital Experience Manager and Marketing Manager to support ecommerce and content marketing initiatives. Work will include email graphics, web templates, web page layouts, blog graphics, and social media graphics.
- Conference Marketing/Coordination Support ? Work with the marketing team to support national and regional conference needs, including posters, banners, signage, brochures, etc.
- Product Development ? Support the product development and merchandising teams to design packaging and product graphics/artwork for Kaplan exclusive products.
Junior or Senior undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, or related focus. Experience in graphic design for print or web a plus. Must have a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator. Candidate must be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Schedule: Available work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Hours are flexible and can be arranged according to a student's academic/work schedule.
