Our virtual spaces are designed to match real physical places to provide a more natural way of online communication, helping people connect, build, and deepen relationships.

oVice has been expanding and growing month over month since our launch in August 2020. Although based in Japan, our team is global and we work fully remote. We're looking for talented people who are keen on using new technology to elevate how people interact online.

About the Role

oVice are looking for a Communications Design Lead. You will be in charge of distilling the essence of oVice's personality into all visual communications across multi countries, time-zones, and continents.

This role requires confidence and depth of experience working across a variety of mediums (Banners, Print Layouts, Ads, Landing Pages, Presentations, etc.) and an appetite for experimentation. You have a passion for branding, and visual story-telling and love pushing your skills to new heights to tackle challenges in fresh and creative ways.

We are looking to become the global standard of remote tooling, and making sure the service's visual communications is imperative for success..

As a design lead, depth of skill in your core craft is a given. The ability to mentor, lead, and manage team members throughout the design process is necessary. You will be working closely with other designers, marketing, content-strategists and any other cross-functional stakeholders to deliver the best experience to our users.

Responsibilities

Inspire great design and lead by doing.

Lead design excellence within teams, defining the difference between "good" and "great" work, and inspire teams to get there.

Work fluidly across digital and print mediums.

Design and deliver internal and external communications, reports, presentation, and documentation.

Bring both a strategy and a mastered understanding of brand and messaging to cross-functional teams.

Collaboration skills?working with designers and stakeholders of all disciplines

Develop and maintain Design Processes with the team

Manage a team of several Communication designers spread out over multiple countries and timezones (Mainly KST). Report to the Head of Design.

Support designers by creating Development Plans. Managing team motivation, workload, deadlines, and logistics.

Be collaborative and contribute to healthy team motivation and morale, offering emotional and logistical support.

Qualifications

8+ years experience as a visual problem solver (Graphic Designer, Digital Designer, or Brand Designer)

3+ Years of Management Experience

Mastery with the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Fluency in Figma and the Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets)

Expert design fundamental knowledge (color, form, type, layout) and the ability to communicate. critique, and provide feedback on the work of others.

Experience working closely with stakeholders and partners

Solution-focused and medium-agnostic, willing to step out of your core skill set or discipline to find the correct solution to a challenge

A thoughtful, yet playful approach to design

Fluency in English and Korean with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working Proficiency in Japanese

Nice to Have

Knowledge of design trends across different cultures, an understanding of what design trends resonate with who and why.
