Priceline.com: Senior UX/UI Designer (New York City, New York, United States, 10016)

As a UI/UX Designer, you will work side-by-side on a team of designers, developers, and product owners to help define a world-class booking experience for our amazing customers. You care about making a great product and are able to design in an iterative process to uncover the best solution–data is your best friend. Our teams are small and nimble, giving you the freedom to make meaningful and measureable improvements to our products. You should be knowledgeable about the competitive space, understand established design patterns and design with best practices in mind. You have experience designing for different technologies and a multitude of devices and you understand the challenges of transactional design.

 

Responsibilities

Be involved in the whole design process… wireframes, flows, comps, prototypes, and production assets
Work closely with other designers, project owners, and developers to define user issues and come up with the best solutions
Iterate rapidly  
Defend your design decisions
Passionate advocate for the user
Maintain visual guidelines to ensure consistent representation of Priceline’s brand

 

Requirements

Good taste
Empathy
Be comfortable taking a data-led approach to design – we do a fair amount of A/B testing
A considered and thoughtful online portfolio with great examples of both web and mobile user interactions
A solid understanding of user-centered design principles, excellent visual design skills, and awesome technical skills
A solid understanding of typography, layout, and grid systems
Be driven, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment with frequently changing business needs
You know how to be part of collaborative team and work directly with developers to implement designs
Take projects from spec to completion with limited oversight
Familiarity with working in an agile environment
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
You are punctual and have good time-management skills

 

Qualifications

Experience with e-commerce and consumer-facing applications
Experience with design tools including Adobe CS Suite, Sketch, Omnigraffle and other tools as they relate to documenting wireframes, interaction flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity screen level design
Experience with A/B and/or user testing
While not a coding role, we expect a familiarly with HTML, CSS, etc.
Experience designing for a variety of device sizes – mobile, tablet, desktop. Responsive experience is a big plus!
5+ years of interactive design experience
