Under the direction of the CTO, the UI/UX Designer is responsible for designing the experiences that customers have on our web and mobile platforms.  The scope of responsibilities include creating entirely new concepts for new product lines and features, specifying changes for existing experiences to address usability issues and brand cohesiveness.

 

This position is part of an existing product team composed of software engineers.

 

Five Main Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the product team to understand product specifications and business requirements through research and data.

  2. Develop user flows, prototypes, and wireframes to specify proposed experiences; includes design objectives & rationale, as well as interaction details to facilitate interpretation of your designs.

  3. Conduct, observe, and analyse usability testing sessions for new designs.

  4. Document design and user experience requirements for development, including UI mock-ups and graphics.

  5. Establish user interface design conventions and principles and ensure they are extended across releases/product.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Rapidly create and iterate mock-ups across a variety of devices/interfaces

  • Designing accessible components and interaction patterns for the software and websites

  • Acquire and maintain an understanding of all Linx System products

  • Present and defend your design decisions to the design team.  All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles.

  • Continually keep yourself updated with the latest changes in your industry's standards

  • Manage design libraries and design systems with adherence to product branding requirements and accessibility standards

  • Work with others to edit short video clips and content.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 2+ years digital design expertise or demonstrated work experience

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, Premier Pro

  • Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS

  • Have an eye and ear for editing engaging video content

  • Delight users with well placed animations

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Creative ideas with problem solving mindset

  • An ability to work independently and manage time

  • Be open to receiving objective criticism and improving upon it

  • Excellent communication skills and knowing how to convey information to people of different technical backgrounds

  • Attention to detail
