Basic FunctionSolomon, the leading performance improvement company for the global energy industry, is seeking candidates for a User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) Designer to join the Solomon Application Development Team. The ideal candidate should be an established UI/UX Designer with experience in designing application interfaces using prototyping technologies. This position will be responsible for researching, creating, and driving engaging digital experiences. The UI/UX Designer will serve as a cross-functional team member, working on research and strategy, information architecture, workflow, design, testing, and prototyping. This role will collaborate with representatives from multiple groups, including strategy and insights teams, to understand goals of each project and drive them to completion.

Qualifications

Education

Required:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or applicable field of study
Work Experience

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer building digital experiences to market to consumers
  • Proficient with industry standard design and prototyping tools, as demonstrated by samples of prior work
  • Expertise with Photoshop® Sketch, Adobe® Creative Suit, and prototyping tools
  • Knowledge of wireframe techniques

Preferred:

  • Experience working within an Agile project methodology
  • Responsive web design
  • Experience with capabilities and limitations of web technologies including CSS
  • Portfolio or examples of previous design work
Technical Skills

Required:

  • Adobe Suite or similar prototyping suites
  • User experience writing
  • Good understanding of media file formats and file conversions (i.e., PNG vs JPEG or EPS)
  • Working knowledge of vector illustration apps (Inkscape, Illustrator®, CorelDRAW®, etc.)

Desired:

  • Experience in HTML5 or ASP.NET web technologies
  • Enterprise Design Language (EDL) authoring or development
  • Agile/Scrum experience
  • SharePoint design
Non-Technical Skills

Required:

  • Able to effectively and professionally execute assignments with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently or in teams in areas of defined expertise
  • Flexible and willing to accept various temporary and developmental assignments in support of Solomons overall objectives
  • Maintains the highest level of integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of work
