Web Designer

As the Web Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing visually appealing and user-friendly websites. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and collaborate across multiple functions to create outstanding digital experiences. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of design principles, possess excellent technical web development skills, and stay up to date with the latest industry trends.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design visually appealing and user-friendly websites, ensuring a seamless user experience
• Create a wireframe, mockups, and prototypes to present the design concept to stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements, objectives, and target audience
• Develop and maintain design guidelines and ensure brand consistency throughout all web projects
• Optimise website designs for maximum speed, accessibility, and responsiveness across different devices and platforms
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to continually improve the user experience
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in web design
• Collaborate with the development team to implement designs, providing guidance and support throughout the development process
• Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide timely solutions
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively

Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Web design, Graphic design, or a related field (equivalent experience)
• Proven experience as a Web Designer or similar role, showcasing a portfolio of past web design projects 
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), Figma, and Bootstrap
• Solid understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first approach
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and worked with platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Shopify, etc. 
• Experience in SEO and SEM and a strong understanding of optimising websites and running effective marketing campaigns is a plus
• Strong visual design skills, including layout, typography, colour theory, and iconography
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal team members
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within project deadlines
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
